The Stillness of Time

February 17, 2018

 Day 619.

I am sitting in the quiet of my daughter's kitchen. The coldness of a Wisconsin winter sneaks in, emanating from the glass of the patio doors.  As I look out across the lawn, I am comforted by the predawn darkness flecked with light from neighboring houses. Life. People living. I warm a second cup of coffee and blink back the tears.

The image into which I poured my pain on Day 59 is the image I select here, for this first blog.

I choose it because it captures the grief, pain, loss, heartache, love and joy of the widow's journey.

Photographing the shoes, the image of my husband's death and life, was inspired by Christina Rambo's "Life is Beautiful, and I'm going to Photograph the Real You" blog. [more]

This photo is the birth place of Renew Collaborative.

And as I move to and from my two cities I still carry with me his shoes.
